Croco Brook Farm in the words of its creator, John Clowes:-
'Linda and I moved to the farm house in 1979 after it had ceased to be a working farm. Virtually everything in the two thirds of an acre garden has been planted since then and like all gardens it has seen many changes. With the passing of time, plants get too big and have to be pruned or removed and new plants are introduced. A gardener also notices the passing of time and I am beginning to look at ways to simplify the garden to reduce the labour but without affecting the interest. The garden contains a wide range of shrubs, trees and perennials. It is an all year round garden and only because I take the dog round every day before breakfast do I manage to see all the plants in bloom. I have tried to concentrate on the overall impact and design is the way to achieve that. I hope your members will agree'.
