Memorial Service: Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor

on 28 November 2016, a memorial serice was held at Chester Cathedral for Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, the 6th Duke of Westminster. The Cathedral was packed with around 2000 guests. Ed Bennis, Chairman of CGT, represented the Trust. His Grace was the first life member of the Trust and our first AGM was held at Eaton Hall. The eulogies brought across a man with a good sense of humour, an infectious laugh but also of a fairly shy individual. The gardens of Eaton were highlighted in one of the eulogies, his support of many charities and his interest in nature which prompted him to purcase one of the largest nature reserves in Spain. From international projects in Japan, Spain and Canada to Liverpool One, he never considered himself to be a developer or a businessman, yet he was sucessful in many areas.
